650K for the CRDi version is reasonable for HARI considering they overprice the i30 at over a million for the CRDI version. However, basing on what I've seen with HARI here, they won't bring in an A/T with the CRDi engine (e.g. Getz, Accent) ... well, maybe this time around they can change their strategy...
Really? I was talking to my SE at Hyundai Pasig and they don't have the slightest clue when it will come to Philippine shores. But one thing he mentioned is that when HARI decides to bring it in, it can happen quite fast....
================ Fuel- and cash-conscious consumers in Europe will have a new runabout to choose from in April when the Hyundai i20 three-door hits dealers. The lowest rung of the i20 range will be unveiled at next month's Geneva Motor Show, packing either a 78-hp, 1.2-liter "Kappa" four-cylinder or a 1.4-liter diesel. Both engines can be mated to either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual gearbox, and the trim levels – Classic, Comfort and Style – will carry over from the five-door model. Hyundai is offering a limited number of available options, including a multi-function steering wheel and keyless entry, along with power windows and mirrors. Pricing starts out at £8,195, or £450 less than the current five door model.
Nice pics Migs. However, with the 1.2liter Kappa engine, wouldn't this be underpowered for the i20? They already use the 1.2 Kappa engine on the i10 and I haven't read about any raves about power from the i10 1.2 Kappa engine owners.
Eight thousand pounds... that's less than P600K (well, assuming no excise taxes)

Fifth Gear (Automotive UK TV show) recently road test the i20 5 door and they have praises for hte 1.2 kappa equipped as the high torque charactericstics and "very preppy" for city driving. Only criticism they could muster is the i20 looks very ordinary for its looks and lack some soul for the exterior design.
A bit of OT but as for the price, if you ask me, shipping costs around the world has come down dramatically and HARI service providers for brokerage and pre-delivery inspection warehouse are know in my industry as pretty low and a benchmark for us (i work for a supply chain logistics company) so HARI pricing (for all current and future models) should be lower compare to a year ago.
I think pricing for HARI is just an attempt to make a lot of money for both HARI and dealer, then again, can we blame them for trying to make money?
One of our company's customer (sorry, cant name it exactly) who uses us for pre-delivery warehouse and brokerage so we could pretty much see their shipping invoice (cost per unit) that they use to declare with customs. If you compare it to the "dealer" pricing, it has a difference of 35-45% against shipping invoice. Thats how low a car unit is being manufactured but....
From there, they need to adjust their selling price to cover their projected profit for the factory/distributor, dealer profit, administrative costs, logistics costs, marketing costs and so fort.
In the end, dealers have a lot of leeway of really selling their units rock bottom if they want to, but since Hyundai's are selling like hotcakes compare to GM and Nissan, its hard to get the traditional Hyundai pricing like what other markets offers (UK, USA, etc)

celine: Hi, need help. My starex didnt start the other night. Sabi ng electrician, it was because of alternator malfunction. Hiw would i know if its really it? His labor is Php 1,800. Reasonable labor ba ito? Problem with us ladies, they tend to over-price labor.

rgmontemayor: get a second opinion from an electrician. normally they have testers and they will be able to pin point that the alternator does not charge at all..another option is to have any battery reseller check also your battery, they will be able to tell also
